Amber is a sound bath app. Our approach to your data is simple: we collect as little as possible, we never sell it, and the app contains no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking of any kind.
You can use Amber fully without signing in. In that case your preferences (such as your chosen bedtime, guide voice, and vibration setting) are stored only on your device and never reach our servers.
Signing in with Apple or Google lets your settings follow you between devices and the web app. When you do, we store: your name and email address (as shared by Apple or Google — Apple lets you hide your real email), and your preferences (bedtime, reminder choice, guide voice, and onboarding status). This data is held with our database provider, Supabase, on servers in London, United Kingdom, and is used solely to provide the syncing feature. We never sell or share it, and we send no marketing email.
With your permission, Amber saves completed sessions to Apple Health as Mindful Minutes. This is a one-way write on your device: Amber does not read your health data, and nothing from Apple Health is ever transmitted to us or anyone else. You can revoke this permission any time in the Health app.
The wind-down reminder is a local notification scheduled entirely on your device. No reminder data leaves your phone.
Every sound in Amber is generated on your device, and the guide voices are bundled inside the app. Amber does not record audio and does not use your microphone.
In the app, open the account card on the home screen and choose Delete my account. This permanently removes your account and all synced settings from our servers. You can also email us at hello@amber8d.com and we'll do it for you.
Amber is a general-audience relaxation app and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
